Carl Anderson (rt), his son Axel (lt), his grandson Gilbert (standing), and great-grandson. Since my last post, I've spent a good deal...
I love how Lawrence's eyes make contact with the viewer through the lens of the camera. This is a beautiful photograph, Anna, and it brings me to tears, knowing that he didn't survive.
ReplyDeleteTo add to my above comment.... It's almost like his eyes plead to be remembered with the serious gaze perhaps expressing the uncertainty of his future. I think it's a bittersweet photograph.
DeleteIt certainly is a bittersweet photo. And I am happy to be able to remember him since he was not married and had no known descendants. Thank you.
