Honor Roll Project - Malverne, New York

Malverne is an incorporated village in Nassau County on Long Island. It is a picturesque little village with a lovely spot for its memorial park, quiet and peaceful late on a weekday morning, in spite of its proximity to Malverne's main commuter railroad station.

Although the sign on this gazebo says, "Chester A. Reese Veterans Memorial Park" others are remembered here, too.

To the left of the gazebo are two Honor Rolls.

This one honors the following Malvernites who were killed in action:

Phillip P. Bonnano
Bernard Brockwehl
Byron Carpenter
Herbert Chamberlain
Terrence J. Cullen
Winthrop Cummings
Frank Dressner
Bruce Englander
William Esposito
Donald Funk
Fred Helbrecht

If you have found an ancestor in my post, please let me know in the comments even if it is anonymously. Also, if you would like a close-up of your ancestor's name in any memorial, I'd be happy to go back and get a better photo, I don't live far from here.

A link to this post will be added to the Honor Roll Project. Anyone can transcribe the names on a monument on a website or blog and provide the link to Heather Wilkinson Rojo at her email address, vrojomit@gmail.com,  she will then add it to the Honor Roll Project website.
