Pausing to remember all of my hardworking ancestors today. Especially those in occupations that didn't allow for holidays like Labour/Labor Day, like the farmers and those who's working lives came before the holiday.
This photo was taken by my maternal grandfather, George W. Smith about 1915. His father, George Robert Smith, was superintendent of the Bell Asbestos Mine in Thetford Mines, Quebec. These are the men working in the Machine Shop at the mine.
A journal of my search for my ancestors and their stories. I started as a name collector and now I am a family historian and preservationist. Join me as I share what I learn.
